WHY I STARTED NW STING
My name is Dashawn Patrick, and I’m thrilled to share my passion for baseball and coaching young athletes with you.
2007
Although NW Sting officially began in 2007, the vision has lived in my heart since my twenties. Seattle is where I fell in love with baseball, and my goal has always been to give back by creating a place where kids can experience that same passion. I also wanted to build a baseball community where families can create lasting memories and relationships that extend far beyond the field.
Like many of ball players, I was instantly hooked the very first time I picked up a bat. I was eight years old when I found a cracked wooden bat buried in the grass under the bleachers at Ballard's Soundview Field. From that moment on, baseball became an integral part of my life. This amazing game has taken me places and introduced me to people I might have never met otherwise. From playing wiffle ball on Saturday mornings and stickball in the streets with neighborhood friends, to playing high school baseball at Ballard High School, to being drafted by the Seattle Mariners, baseball has been my DAY 1!
I am so blessed to share my love of baseball with the Seattle community.
